With its aggressive new image, and driven by a new engine with optimised torque and power delivery - the Yamaha Wolverine / R-Spec takes the ROV (Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle) concept into new territory.

While at home on any farm, the new Wolverine is aimed primarily at the recreational customer and is the most off-road capable ROV offering class-leading comfort for two people.

Featuring a compact design, look and feel, this new vehicle is built to traverse extreme terrain as well as tight, technical trails.

Equipped with industry-leading technology including Yamaha’s Ultramatic® fully automatic CVT transmission as well as On-Command 2WD/4WD/4WD with diff lock modes - together with fully adjustable suspension and an automotive style cab with intuitive controls - the Wolverine / R-Spec delivers a comfortable and confidence inspiring experience for the driver and passenger.

Optional EPS models feature Yamaha’s industry leading speed sensitive power steering system – especially useful on technical terrain at slow speed. Additional, the Wolverine R-Spec EPS Special Edition features a range of upgrades to set it apart from the pack, including bead-lock wheels, additional chassis and A-arm protection, extended overfenders, a soft grip steering wheel, underseat storage and sleek Matt Silver painted bodywork with colour-matched seats for a stylish cabin interior.

Features

Featuring a bore and stroke of 103mm x 85mm and displacing 708cc, the new single cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve liquid-cooled powerplant is equipped with a double overhead camshaft (DOHC), compared to the SOHC design used on the Viking.

KYB piggyback shock absorbers are used at the front and rear, and offer a class-leading suspension package with full adjustability for high and low speed compression damping, rebound damping and spring preload.

For high levels of engine and chassis protection combined with the ability to glide over obstacles such as fallen trees or rocks, the Wolverine / R-Spec is fitted with full coverage steel skid plates together with front and rear plastic skid plates.

The Wolverine / R-Spec’s cab interior layout is designed to offer high levels of comfort and convenience to the driver and passenger. With its intuitive automotive style design, new ROV users will find that everything seems to be in the 'right' place.

For strong and predictable stopping power the Wolverine R-Spec is equipped with drilled 270mm discs at the front and rear that are gripped by compact 2-pot calipers. For increased durability and protection from the elements, a separate new 'wet' parking disc brake is featured.

Manufactured from lightweight polypropylene, the Wolverine / R-Spec’s flat fixed-position cargo bed has a level volume of 188 litres with a load capacity of 136kg, and is equipped with a removable multi-position tailgate for increased versatility.
